What is HOH?
Head of Household is a filing status that applies to taxpayers who are unmarried and have a qualifying dependent. You must also have paid more than half the cost of maintaining a home for you and your qualifying person to qualify for this filing status. If you are taking care of a parent who does not live with you but you provided more than half of their support, then they may also count as a qualifying dependent on your return.
